Johnson Winter Slattery (JWS) has snapped up Bird & Bird’s Sophie Dawson as its newest IPT partner.

Dawson is a specialist in IT, telecommunications and media disputes. She has worked with high-profile media and IT and telecommunication companies with regard to 3G telephony patent litigation and copyright litigation.

She has tackled major arbitrations, expert determinations, mediations and negotiations in relation to software development and licensing, telephony, satellite, and communication technology concerns.

JWS Managing Partner Jeremy Davis highlighted Dawson as “a market leading lawyer having worked on some of the most significant disputes in the TMT sector”.

“Sophie’s appointment will add further depth to both our technology and media practices and continue to strengthen our disputes offering”, Davis said.
