At the 2023 Australasian Law Awards, the person who walked away with the win for Young In-House Lawyer of the Year is one of her organisation’s youngest executives.

Candice Gin, head of legal and compliance – Australia & New Zealand at The Adecco Group, credited her success in her role to the support of her fellow executives.

“I’ve got an incredible bunch of execs – they’re really supportive, they mentor me, support me, they’ve carried me through some really tough times. It’s encouraging”, she told Australasian Lawyer on the awards red carpet.

Gin was praised by the awards judges for her “outstanding work not only in her legal practice, but also in customer experience and team engagement”. They indicated that her achievements were “all the more impressive considering the low usage of external law firms”.

Gin beat out Excellence Awardees Charlotte Olsen (National Rugby League), Eleanor Wheelhouse (TPG Telecom), Joshua Goldsmith (Computershare), Karthik Maganty (Deloitte Asia Pacific), Shaniya Vilash (Daimler Truck Australia Pacific and William Daymond (Galderma) for the award.
