Mills Oakley has snagged former Gilchrist Connell national corporate and commercial head Gaurav de Fontgalland for its corporate team.

“An impeccable reputation, bench strength and the availability of the full range of cross-practice expertise are vital prerequisites for my clients, and I feel fortunate to have found all of that, and more, at Mills Oakley. I am delighted to be making my contribution to the firm’s vision of becoming a leader in the independent domestic market,” de Fontgalland said.

He started operating from Mills Oakley Sydney last month, bringing his years of experience guiding businesses through all stages of their life cycle, from initial structuring, funding and scaling up, to organic and M&A driven growth and to liquidity events.

de Fontgalland’s clients include listed and private companies, investment firms and their portfolio companies, emerging businesses, family offices and high net worth individuals, both in Australia and overseas. He also launched and ran a boutique corporate law specialist firm for almost a decade.

“Having tripled the size of our Melbourne corporate practice last year with the acquisition of Clarendon Lawyers, our next step is to gain similar scale in other markets. A high calibre partner like Gaurav will add a further dimension to our Sydney practice,” Mills Oakley CEO John Nerurker said.
