Wotton + Kearney (W+K) has launched a branch in Adelaide.

Financial lines partner Nick Lux has been appointed to head up the new office, which is located at Hub Adelaide at 89 Pirie Street. He will work alongside new special counsel Matthew Elson and Lani Carter, who hails from Sparke Helmore.

“Our expansion into Adelaide will meet our increasing local client demand. It’s also a great example of our People First strategy in practice,” W+K CEP David Kearney said. “Throughout the pandemic, we had lawyers who understandably wanted to work from home in their home town. That worked so well that we have now created a private office for the team within a co-working space.”

Elson will work with the general liability team, while Carter practises with the financial lines and property and energy teams. Both are based in Adelaide, and will offer in “on-the-ground support for local insureds across all major product lines,” the firm said. Meanwhile, Lux will divide his time between Adelaide and Melbourne.

This is the firm’s seventh branch across Australia and New Zealand. W+K confirmed that it would be looking to expand the Adelaide team.
