Maddocks' mid-year promotions cycle elevates 47

Maddocks has elevated 47 in its mid-year promotions cycle, making three new additions to its partnership.

As of 1 July, Ooma Khurana, Greg Palumbo and Rosamond Sayer will become partners on the corporate and commercial team. Khurana and Palumbo focus on TMT, while Sayer concentrates on ECM.

“The Maddocks board has been focused this year on modernising our business, through new innovation and technology, ensuring we are moving with our clients’ priorities and expectations”, chairman Mark Henry said. “Excellence in client service is particularly essential during these uncertain times, and our reputation as a great place to do great work has contributed to our success and growth during the last year”.

The new partners are joined by 7 new special counsel, 13 senior associates, 18 associates and 6 services.

“Our promotions demonstrate the firm’s ongoing transformation, both internally and across the legal sector, backed up by our dedication to making a difference to our clients”, CEO David Newman added.

Meanwhile, Colin Biggers & Paisley (CBP) has promoted two new partners in Patrick Cavanagh and Georgina Wong, and welcomed a new senior associate in Alexandra King.

“The promotions of Patrick and Georgina align with Colin Biggers & Paisley's strategic goals of supporting our people's career development, encouraging them to thrive, and promoting our most talented and experienced lawyers”, said Gavin Creighton, joint insurance practice leader at CBP. “It's fantastic to see Patrick and Georgina's dedication to their practice and I look forward to seeing the value they will undoubtedly continue to bring to our clients in Queensland and to the practice as a whole”.

Cavanagh concentrates on the defence of professional indemnity claims, but also works on property damage matters, public liability claims and recoveries, first- and third-party cyber-crime, and employee fraud claims. Meanwhile, Wong, who is also a civil litigator, tackles matters involving workers' compensation, personal injury, public liability, dust disease injuries, institutional risk and liability, contractual indemnity, and third-party recovery.

King commenced with the team in March.
