JWS snags real-estate specialist

Johnson Winter & Slattery (JWS) has scored a major win, bringing in a senior lawyer to the partnership.

Peter Trevaskis joined the national firm on 4 March from Norton Rose Fulbright (NRF). He was a long-standing partner at NRF, ascending to the top ranks of legacy Deacons in 1999. At NRF, he was the Australian and then the global head of the real-estate group.

Trevaskis has extensive experience in property development, acquisitions, sales, investment and leasing, JWS said.

He regularly represents REITs, sovereign wealth and pension funds, fund managers, large national and multi-national companies, and property developers. His past clients include Amazon, ISPT, Citigroup, Challenger, Built., AMP, Investa, QUBE Logistics, Coles Supermarkets, Australian Industry Group, YuHu, and Daiwa House.

“As an industry expert and a market-leading lawyer, Peter will enhance the depth of our expertise in the property sector,” said Peter Slattery, JWS national managing partner.

Trevaskis’ appointment comes after JWS welcomed Amit Jois as a partner from DLA Piper last month.
