JWS advised Brookfield while CIE guided Optimus Group on the $44m deal

JWS, CIE Legal confirm roles in Optimus Group's Autocare acquisition

Johnson Winter Slattery (JWS) and CIE Legal have confirmed their roles in the divestment of LINX CCG’s Autocare business to Optimus Group.

Brookfield tapped JWS for advice, while CIE Legal was engaged by Optimus Group. Under the $44m deal, Optimus picks up 75,505 shares in Autocare.

The transaction is set to be completed in the first half of the year.

Amit Jois headed up the JWS team, which comprised Marko Komadina, Alexandra Neovius, Katherine Wright, Annabel Roden and Clinton Wang (M&A). Supporting them were Ravi de Fonseka, Aidan Allen and Emily Ryan (IP/IT); Marcus Clark and Mellissa Lai (foreign investment); Sar Katdare and Morgan Blaschke-Broad (competition); Kathryn Bertram (tax); Peter Trevaskis (property); Ruveni Kelleher, Naomi Cooper and Norah Chafardet (employment); and Samantha Daly and Angus Hannam (planning and environment).

Brookfield also enlisted the expertise of Azure Capital and MA Moelis.

Andrew Thompson led CIE Legal’s team. He advised on the IT aspects of the deal, while Bianca Jacobs helped on the corporate finance aspects. Zach Moon tackled the project management aspects, particularly on due diligence; Ines Balint handled HR matters; and Monica Yuan advised on environmental and property issues.
