Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) has confirmed that Justin D’Agostino will have a second term as CEO.

D’Agostino first took up the mantle in May 2020. He will continue to lead the firm for a further four years starting 1 May 2024.

The role includes managing the firm’s 5,000-strong staff, as well as its client, people, practices and growth strategies. D’Agostino said that he was looking forward to continue working with the firm’s leadership team on executing HSF’s strategy.

“With a truly international mindset and as a highly effective communicator, Justin has the energy and drive to deliver on our firm's goals. The reappointment of Justin shows the strength of the firm, our confidence in our strategy and the strategic momentum we have achieved, and I personally look forward to continuing to work closely with him”, senior partner Rebecca Maslen-Stannage said.

D'Agostino’s re-appointment was cemented after a partnership vote. He has been with HSF for 25 years and spearheaded initiatives such as the cultivation of the firm’s disputes practice and HSF’s Asia expansion.

Last year, he joined the executive board of the International Chamber of Commerce’s World Council.
